Everyone is welcome - experienced meditators and those curious to try a gong bath for the first time. The beauty of a gong bath meditation is that anyone can enjoy it, no experience necessary. (Please see note below about circumstances where gong baths might not be suitable).

Here are a few suggestions for what to bring:

• Something to lie on, such as a yoga mat

• A blanket or warm jumper

• A pillow for your head

• Something to cover your eyes with

Spots are very limited so grab yours now! Social distancing guidelines will be observed, so you'll have plenty of space to yourself while being close to the gong for maximum vibrational effect.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Gong baths are not suitable for anyone with a pacemaker, anyone who suffers from fits (epileptics), or anyone who is extremely sensitive to sound. They are also not recommended for women in the first trimester of pregnancy due to the unstable nature of pregnancy during that time. If you wear a hearing aid, your device should be turned off during the session. If you have any concerns, please speak with your doctor in advance.

Who will be leading the session?

This session will be led by Mark Smallman. Mark has always been interested in the ability of music and sound to calm the mind. When he had his first gong bath, he was blown away by the ability of the instrument to induce effortless meditation. Inspired by a quote from the late DJ Andrew Weatherall who said ‘you’re never going to have that feeling of hearing a record for the first time again, but if you look into the eyes of someone who’s hearing it for the first time... it’s the next best feeling’, he’s keen to share the positive energy of the gong with people who have not already encountered it. You can follow Mark here.
